Best friends forever

Yesterday, Andre came home from school with a folded piece of paper. It's supposed to be a comic book of sorts, done by his best buddy Paul. The inside was mostly blank, apparently Paul hadn't had time to work on it. But the outside made me smile:

I think this epitomises the innocence and happiness of childhood. I'm so glad Andre has found a friend he can relate to and play with. According to Paul's mother, one day when Paul stayed in at recess to finish up some work, Andre waited with him until he had finished before they both went off to play together. For a boy who hates to wait and hates to give up recess even more, it shows how much he values their friendship!

I've invited Paul over to our place during the school holidays, I think they will really enjoy the time together, especially as they might be in different classes next year.

  1. What a sweet kid Paul is, both of them are. For all their BOYsterousness and cheekiness, at heart these two have found a quiet kinship, and that is so heartwarming to watch, even as an outsider.

  2. That's so beautifully said, Lilian. We wish too, for ourselves, to find such friendships like that. Through thick and thin, through sick and sin, that's what friendships are for.

  3. You two are so poetic! I agree, it's heartwarming to know that your kid has someone like-minded to share his experiences with. Hopefully it will last for a long time yet.
